Ubud is changing fast, and we invite you to witness it at its golden hour of dawn. Join us on our Director Kadek Adidharma's favorite morning walk, which starts at 6am and takes you through the Ubud market, village lanes, fields and forest.  After witnessing sunrise and herons  taking flight, we have a small picnic in a farmer's hut high up in the  rice fields north of Ubud where we can sit and soak in the morning ambiance.

Descending through the rice fields back into the growing "town" of Ubud, we pass by the original house of Walter Spies, a German painter, composer and choreographer who became Ubud's first expatriate resident in 1928 before entering into the hidden cave-pools and spa for a soak in pools of varying temperature and enjoy a well-deserved 90-minutes spa treat. Our routes are flexible to suit your fitness level and desire for exploration, with the maximum route length being 16 km.

Yes, many of the sights on this walk are picturesque, but we warn you that we will also reveal to you the downside of Ubud's rampant development. Bali Eco Tours invites you to join us in discussing how to keep Ubud's tourism sustainable. Every traveler can vote with their dollars to support the right kind of growth and development, the challenge is in deciding which are worthy.
